A User's Guide to Technical Support
Daiyo Technical Support is committed to providing you the best support possible. Our experienced technicians can help you solve the toughest problems, but there are a few things you can do before you call to help us reach the solution as quickly as possible. This guide provides a few guidelines for solving the problem on your own, as well as gathering the information Daiyo Technical Support will need to help you solve the problem.
Before You Call
One of the first things a Daiyo support technician will do when troubleshooting a problem with you is to get an idea of all equipment involved. To save time on the call (or eliminate the need for telephone assistance), you can make these checks beforehand.
Go through the check list below:
* Check Equipment Requirements
Ensure that your equipment meets the hardware requirements listed on the packaging of your Daiyo Product.
* Check Hardware Connections
Make sure that any hardware devices you are using are securely connected to your equipment, that they are properly mounted, and that device cords are not damaged.
* Note: Be sure to turn off your equipment and any devices before connecting, disconnecting, or checking cable connections. Failure to do so can damage your hardware.
Calling Technical Support
Once you've determined that you need to call Daiyo Technical Support to resolve your problem, the following tips will help the call progress as quickly and efficiently as possible:
Record and note the details of the problem, its frequency, and any actions taken immediately before the problem occurred.
Note the model number of the product you're calling about. Most Daiyo Products list the model number on their package or surface.
* Make sure your phone is near your equipment when you call so you can easily answer questions about your equipment and the problem you're having. This also enables you to try solutions proposed by the Daiyo technician.
* If you are using a speaker phone, consider switching to a hand set or head set. Many speaker phones can cut off unexpectedly and pick up a lot of external noise, making it difficult to communicate effectively.
* Be clear in describing what the problem is or what you were attempting to do. Your description of the issue will help the technician determine the appropriate troubleshooting steps.
* Be prepared to troubleshoot the problem. The technician may ask you to perform some tasks to get a better picture of what's happening or take some steps toward fixing the problem. If you've already performed some of
these steps, make sure you tell the technician about those steps and their outcome.
* Be willing to work with the technician. It's important that you do to solve your problem.
* Make sure you ask questions when you don't understand something the technician has asked you to do.
